Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
