Liverpool's Star Extends Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the controversy from his televised remarks.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has refused to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
