The Opening Xbox Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites began covering regarding Sony's platform as a new development. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company remains determined to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Compelling Indie Titles
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Well-Rounded Collection
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
