Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on Your Astrological Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm within the fandom. From the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the game's launch, to players forming firm opinions on the entire lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive appearances that emphasize their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Several past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this total royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Much like an captivating, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly simple to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an whole Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems very like a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their feelings. According to the official info, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to create a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Aside from the fact that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored throughout this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo sends to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it became sentient through pure hatred and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless memes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
